tatter'd & worn, handsewn musty pages now soft as butter & faded-a new year from so very long ago...
papery brown silke slippers with whispery bows,
poor bent dolly watches over bisque babies sleeping inside tiny girl slippers, worn through at the toes,
tattery silk ribbons still dance on their toes, one pale blue button missing, now a nest for faded blue silk berries.
fat strawberries dance across an old cloth box.
a baby sleeps among forgotten robin's eggs in a nest of tarnished silver threads.
old velvet, worn thin, silk edgings and glass beads in pale patterns of long ago...
thin spidery flourishes and swirls take wing beneath thin wavy ripples,
all within the confines of a once elegant frame.
everything spoke to me and it was love at first sight.

Wow mom...this is beautiful writing - so poetic & descriptive- what pretty, sweet things to inspire :)
Hello Christine. It's been too long since I was here for a visit. What a beautiful post and what beautiful things. I was just visiting your site. Little Abbie is, without a doubt....my favorite doll you have made...there is just something about her....she pulls at my heart strings. Your talent simply amazes me each time I see something you have made. They are all wonderful. Congratulations on being chosen again this year for the Directory of Traditional Crafts. I received my magazine on Friday and was thrilled to see you listed there. You very much deserve such an honor.
Oh, is that your home pictured on your website? It is lovely. So very tranquil and serene. I just love it.
Take care and God Bless

I just love all your treasures from the past! Your description was so lovely too :)
Christe,
Oh how I would love to come over to visit your magical home! All of these treasures you shared a photo of, are truly my taste! Thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Tink
Beautiful Christe', such poetry both in word and in image.
Oh my dear friend, you write so beautifully, I so wish I had a little of that in me. I so love that photo, one of my favourites I must say... It is 2.25 am here in Australia and I couldn't sleep and you know you were the first thing I thought of this morning..Thank you for blessing all our lives with such beauty, from my heart to yours...
Your collection of treasures is lovely Christine! Thank you for sharing them with us....I can see why they speak to you, and give you inspiration. Your writing is beautiful, and you have such a gift for it! Thank you! :)
good morning everyone,
thank you so much for coming to visit and for your compliments!
Everything I have is worn or worn out, but these things speak to me much more than something perfect & pristine.
The big dolly head is a mistake from a dollmakers kiln,I had to bring her home. She is bent over and cracked, she needed someone to lift her up and she has taken on the little bisque orphan babies as her own to watch over.
yes, that's my little farmhouse, she too is worn and bent, but it is the dearest place in the world to me and those that live there.
I'm glad you all have found pleasure in seeing a few of my things.
Absolutely stunning post!!!!!
oh- my- robin's eggs in a nest of tarnished silver threads-i could eat that up, it sounds so divine.la.la. love jo..
Dear Christine, I am rife with nostalgia reading your beautiful words. I want to slip on those gorgeous shoes, the ones on their toes, and dance....
I loved reading the words from your heart... what more can I say, but simply beautiful? Treasures aren't always perfect are they?
Stacey
