I came home with the full skirt pulled out of the waist because I had to rest my knees on the skirt part of the full skirted dress so I could stay out of the dirt : ) My Mom (she is 99) would plait my hair on an old backless stool in the kitchen and as soon as I ran to school I had those plaits down blowing in the wind. Those were the days before we could wear pants to school : )
You brought back some great memories
Thank you
carolea Bohemian Markethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17155708452552265719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716841463726306014.post-17742867240758350102007-04-27T18:10:00.000-07:002007-04-27T18:10:00.000-07:00I has been to your blog before, and read the wonde...I has been to your blog before, and read the wonderful post about your walk with the kids. I am the only girl with 4 brothers, as a wee thing my mother couldn't bare for me to wear anything but dresses...the time soon came that it wasn't at all practical in many situations. Still, I wasn't to own a pair of REAL jeans until much later. I love the way this precious girl managed to capture both looks at the same time!!Lisa Oceandreamer Swifkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10447207923190618328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716841463726306014.post-6535649537167478332007-03-20T13:36:00.000-07:002007-03-20T13:36:00.000-07:00What a beautiful little girl! In fact, just about the only time she'll wear a dress sans jeans is for church! =)Cape Cod Washashorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07267024473330532083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716841463726306014.post-80517829687351421782007-03-20T11:25:00.000-07:002007-03-20T11:25:00.000-07:00What a wonderful photo and beautiful tale! Her teachers said they could always tell who of their students dressed themselves - the ones who looked ready for a party and still practical enough to climb a tree! Mine always knew what she wanted to wear, and still has a mind of her own...!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716841463726306014.post-22190818067721675482007-03-20T10:21:00.000-07:002007-03-20T10:21:00.000-07:00Your grandaughter is beautiful and her style will ...Your grandaughter is beautiful and her style will take her anywhere she wants to go. We should all travel through life so prepared!
I am pleased that you have started to write here. I have loved and been inspired by your artwork since the Holly Berry Hill days and visit Deerfield Farmhouse often as well as Sparrow's Cottage. Currently, I receive Katie's newsletter and enjoyed the pattern that you contributed this last December. Thank you.Lenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16147259175811183482noreply@blogger.com
